Clip mapping functions by using the luminosity (brightness) values of the
image you are using as the clip map. Any luminosity values above 50% gray
will be clipped, while those below won't be. Therefore, the parts you
want clipped should be white. Any thing you don't want clipped should be
black (or at least below 50% gray)
